Adelaide, SOUTH AUSTRALIA – 25 August 2026 – OptiGrid, a battery optimisation and trading intelligence platform that is built for the National Electricity Market (NEM) has been selected by AMPYR, an independent power producer in Australia with backing from AGP, as one of the tools to optimise AMPYR’s batteries within its portfolio.

Using OptiGrid’s OptiBidder platform and its proprietary AI-powered forecasting, optimisation and bidding algorithms, AMPYR will be able to optimise the operations of its batteries, including meeting its offtake contract commitments, accessing merchant market opportunities including energy arbitrage and Frequency Control Ancillary Services (FCAS).

AMPYR selected OptiGrid after a detailed comparison on the performance of OptiBidder against other optimisation platforms. The evaluation involved the use of a Digital Twin to benchmark trading performance on AMPYR’s proposed battery.

Jialin Shen, Energy Solutions Director at AMPYR said, “To achieve AMPYR’s goals, we need partners that can offer innovative solutions to meet our financial and technology needs.  OptiGrid worked closely with us to demonstrate that OptiBidder would deliver the best revenue performance for our growing battery portfolio.”

“The OptiGrid Digital Twin tests allowed us to compare trading strategies and stress-test our planned contractual positions in real-time. The results showed that OptiBidder could deliver higher returns and provide the innovative features we need to for our portfolio.”

Sahand Karimi, CEO of OptiGrid said, “We’re excited to be supporting the growth of AMPYR’s portfolio in the NEM.”

“Through OptiBidder’s market-leading forecasting and portfolio optimisation capabilities, we demonstrated how AMPYR could meet its contractual commitments while capturing market opportunities in the NEM.”

OptiGrid manages a portfolio of hybrid and standalone BESS projects. Based in South Australia, OptiGrid’s shareholders include the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, IP Group, Hostplus, UNSW, Adelaide University and EnergyLab.
